LESSON 3: Planets, Planets How Are You?

in this lesson, we will learn about all the nine planets and their characteristics...!! (^^,)
lets.....

1. Mercury

  • it is too close to the Sun.
  • the temperature is too hot to support life.

the surface of Mercury

2. Venus
  • a great amount of the heat from the Sun is trapped in its atmosphere.
  • it is hotter than the Mercury.

Venus

3. Earth
  • it has water, air and a suitable temperature to support life.
  • it is where human being, animals and plants lives.

Earth

4. Mars
  • almost all of its water is frozen.
  • scientists have not found any life there.

Mars
5. Jupiter
  • it is so big that all the other planets could fit inside it.

Jupiter

6. Saturn
  • Saturn has three wide rings.
  • it can be seen through telescope.

Saturn
7. Uranus
  • Uranus is lying on its side as it goes round the Sun.

Uranus
8. Neptune
  • Neptune is covered with a blue ocean of liquid methane.

Neptune
9. Pluto
  • Pluto is very cold because it is very far from the Sun.

Pluto
there u go....
i hope with this lessons, more or less it can help build more knowledge in you...

p/s: any comments is much appreciated..^^,

LESSON 2: How Far and How Big?

hye again..!!
in this topic..,,we will learn about the size and the distance of the Sun, Earth and the Moon from each other.

* scientists have calculated that the Sun is one hundred times the size of Earth, and the Earth is four times the       size of the Moon.

* the distance from the Earth to the Sun is 400 times the distance from Earth to the Moon.

below show the relative sizes of the Sun, Earth and the Moon.

i hope it gives u the gist of how far and how bid their size......
c ya in Lesson 3!!

LESSON 1: Our Solar System

Do u know that in our Solar System, there are the Sun and the other nine planets that circles around the Sun according to their own orbits. The planets are Mercury, Venus , Earth, Mars , Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The Sun is the center of the Solar System. All the nine planets move around the Sun in a large oval path. The planets also spin by itself.

the Sun and the nine planets

Not only that, i also learnt that in outer space, there are other things that we need to know. There are 3 of them which are asteroids, comet and also meteors.

1. Asteroids are the huge chunks of rocks that travel round the Sun.

Are also known as the Minor Planets.

Orbit the Sun mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Usually range in size from 1 kilometer to 1000 kilometers across.

Are difficult to observe because of their small size.
Sometimes have moons that orbit them.

2. Comets have long glowing tails.

objects made up of gas, ice and dust. They travel around the Sun in an orbit.

Are warmed up as they approach the Sun. This causes the Comet to form a head and tail. The head is the cloud-like mass we see in the front. The tail is the trailing part which is made up of small particles and ice.

Lose mass each time they pass through the inner regions of the Solar System.

Are usually named after the person who discovered them.

Halley's Comet  and Hale-Bopp Comet  are two famous comets.

3. Meteors are tiny rocks which probably come from the asteroid belt.\

Are many times confused with meteors and meteoroids.

Meteorites are rocks from space that strike the Earth.

Meteors (also known as shooting stars) are the same kind of object as meteorites, only they are still in space.

Meteoroids could be tiny particles left behind by a comet or can even be an asteroid. Meteoroids are in orbit around the Sun.

Meteorites are usually classified as stones, irons or stony irons.

Have been known to be very large. The Barringer Crater in Arizona (caused by a falling Meteorite) is just over 1/2 miles across and 660 feet deep.

that's all for Lesson 1!!  c u on Lesson 2!!
bubye..!!

heloo!!

hey everybodyy!!!!
here i want to share with u  guys about solar system that i had already learnt in school!!
it is in chapter 6: The Earth and the Universe. we will have three lesson...
Lesson 1: Our Solar System
Lesson 2: How Far and How Big
Lesson 3: Planets, Planets, How are You? ^^

so, as an introduction.....,, did u all know that the planet that we're living right now is the Earth!!..
(of course everyone knows right) hehe..
but we also have to know other planets that in our solar system..
so, here i already prepared pics, video and other useful info for u all..^^'
let's check it out in my posts....
